Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) affect some of the world’s poorest communities, raising urgent questions about justice, equity, and global responsibility. This session will explore how ethical principles can guide research funding, treatment access, and protections for vulnerable populations with limited political influence.

Addressing NTDs requires more than medical solutions; it means confronting the social and systemic inequalities that allow these diseases to persist. Through social justice, health equity, and global solidarity, we can help ensure no community is left behind. REGISTER HERE.

Advances in genetic technologies, such as CRISPR and other gene-editing tools, are transforming medicine, offering unprecedented opportunities to prevent disease, improve health outcomes, and reshape the future of healthcare. At the same time, these innovations raise complex ethical questions about human enhancement, reproductive decision-making, equity, consent, and the boundaries of scientific intervention. This webinar will explore the ethical, legal, and social implications of genetic manipulation, examining how society can balance scientific progress with responsible stewardship, justice, and respect for human dignity. For any questions or additional information, please email gwsphbig@gwu.edu.
