The Data Governance and Digital Trade Hub's next webinar which will focus on how interoperability might help policymakers address issues of data access, equity, competition, and control. When products, services, or governance systems are interoperable, these products, services, or systems generally can connect and transfer various types of data without restrictions. The EU is about to approve legislation designed to promote interoperability. Proponents claim that with greater interoperability users would gain greater control over their personal data and be better able to switch between platforms, promoting competition, increasing autonomy, and reducing network effects.
