This workshop focuses on basic cartographic skills: how to compile data, style your map and symbolize your content effectively. Ultimately, a participant will be able to produce a map using prexisting data.
This workshop is part of the Visualizing Data with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) series, which offers both introductory and in-depth sessions on working with location data and geographic information systems software. Other workshops in this Spring 2019 series are Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Thinking Spatially with QGIS, Finding GIS Data & Resources, Spatial Analysis with QGIS, Mapping Census Data, Mapping Primary Source Documents: Segregation in Washington, D.C. If you're working on a GIS project and need personalized assistance, consider booking a consultation with a GIS specialist. More information is available on AcademicCommons.gwu.edu.
